January 24, 2020 – Los Angeles – The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is pleased to announce the affiliation of Houston (Texas)-based El River Park Soccer League.

Effective immediately with the 2020 Spring Season, the Central Conference South Division will affiliate the El River Park Soccer League as part of its seasonal 7v7 competition.

United Premier Soccer League National Director Matt Kahla said, "South Texas is a hotbed for 7v7, which is a breeding ground for tomorrow's UPSL Division I and Division II teams while also featuring its own fitness levels and game-situation competition. Roger Galo and El River Park Soccer League have been operating a tremendous 7v7 league, and it's great to establish this affiliation under the UPSL umbrella."

Founded in 2003, El River Park Soccer League currently features teams more than 60 teams in its Men's Open Division, and is home to nearly 1,000 players every week in its seasonal youth-to-adult leagues.

Owned and operated by Roger Galo, UPSL / El River Park Division's 2020 Spring Season will kick off in March and will continue through a four-team playoff in June. The winner qualifies for the UPSL Regional 7v7 Championship.

UPSL / El River Park Division Manager Roger Galo said, "I know the UPSL in Houston is growing significantly, and it's long been my thinking that El River Park Soccer League and the UPSL should be working together. We know there's great talent here in Houston, and our new UPSL 7v7 Division will allow players to get a sense of the league and level of competition. This is an investment in new talent and new teams, and we're going to be able to market to those players and clubs."

All members clubs are eligible for entry into the UPSL El River Park 7v7 Division.
